I'm gonna be straight with you, dear readers: I get A LOT of emails every day. Like, dozens. Some days easily 60 or more.
And a good percentage of those emails come from companies asking me to give them free content, help promote their new travel app, or join their brand new affiliate program. I'm picky when it comes to this sort of thing, though. I mean, sure, I COULD download every app and join every single affiliate program that comes my way, and then try to convince you all to do the same. But that's not how I roll.
When it comes to the things that I recommend on this site – whether it's a tour company or an ebook – I won't ever recommend anything that I don't fully stand behind and believe in (and would pay for myself).
So the fact that I'm writing a whole post about something I got an email about should tell you something. This is worth knowing about.
The Challenge to Being Creative
Here's the thing about being “creative.” It's something that came so naturally to us as kids, when we were making up lyrics to songs that didn't exist and “playing pretend” and crafting works of art to be hung up on the refrigerator.
When you're a kid, no one has to explain to you how to be creative – and certainly no one has to inspire you to be.
As we get older, though, creativity – true creativity – is more difficult to come by. We have too many things to worry about, and the stress of adulting often squashes our more creative tendencies. We're convinced by parents and bosses and peers that creativity doesn't really fit into normal business practice.
But this is bullshit.
Recapturing the creative spark is something people are desperately trying to do. One look at the rise in popularity of things like group painting classes and adult coloring books points directly to this: we are dying to recapture the natural creativity that we never used to have to look for at all.
But creativity is not something you can force. You can't wake up in the morning and tell yourself, “I am going to spend 6 hours being creative today.” I mean, you *could,* but I've found that the more I try to force myself to be creative, the more difficult it is for me to produce anything. Creative ideas don't come when they're forced – they have to be allowed to come naturally. (I can't be the only one who often gets great ideas when I'm distracted by doing something else – like washing my hair – right?)

I hope one or more of the resources in this bundles sparks some of YOUR creativity.
