We booked a night away in Auckland on a whim and was looking forward to trying out a new hotel we got on special for the night.
We arrived in Auckland city, and as any non-Aucklander knows, and instantly felt a bit confused. We pulled...More
Atrium-style hotel with updated rooms, which are large for a city hotel in this price point. Clean and good service. Excellent central CBD location, walking distance to waterfront, University, theaters etc. Large tiled bathroom with separate tub/shower.
The Rooms are very clean and well maintained - close proximity to shops/dining/movies/shows/walking/sightseeing. Dining at the hotel has everything you need and the staff are excellent and very helpful. Found it all very relaxing for a night away from it all.

If you are staying at the hotel after the cruise, I'd suggest a taxi. Not far from the cruise terminal but I wouldn't like to walk with my suitcase as it is uphill. Not very expensive at all for a taxi. The staff at the Millenium are lovely and will look after your travel needs. They recommended a private company for our trip from the airport and it was only slightly over the taxi fare and we arrived in a nice clean shiny BMW with a great driver.
We looked at staying at the Casino and very nearly did but picked up a great rate here a couple of weeks before we left in a Club room. Fantastic as there were many people staying here who were on the same cruise. In fact, we stayed in with one through the cruise and after! Room was very comfortable. I would certainly recommend staying here for the price, the fantastic club room food and wine and the staff! Walking distance to many places as well including many restaurants and the Viaduct area.
